The 1st President (15 July 1986 – 14 July 1992)

Unity Builds the Organization:
“….Working at this university, especially in the early years when we faced many hardships, the faculty members and staff were highly united and harmonious. We devoted ourselves to our work with full sacrifice, and I believe that having many capable and highly qualified people who cannot work together and only argue with one another will not create any benefit. There must be people who have knowledge and ability, and they must also have unity together…”

Associate Professor Dr. Haris Sutabutra
The 2nd President (15 July 1992 – 14 July 1998)

Teaching:
Succession Plan is part of management work. Try to recruit good and capable people. One should select people who have greater potential than oneself to join the organization. When solving problems, one must think systemically, break a big problem into smaller problems and solve each problem. Matters involving people should be given time so that small problems do not become big ones. Do not think that you have already done your best too quickly. One must persist and not let go, make use of differing opinions, always think of the common good first, think about every word before speaking, do not say everything you think, be pleased when others succeed, help others whenever there is an opportunity, and provide warmth.

Associate Professor Dr. Krisanapong Kirtikara
The 3rd President (15 July 1998 – 14 July 2006)

Dream… King Mongkut’s Thonburi Learning Park
“…Thai society must grow with roots, with its own history. It must see the processes, which are recorded, collected, and then presented and analyzed in modern language, which may be called Knowledge Management. Ancient universities, in English, have books that are 400–500 years old, with classic works of Frank and Einstein in the library that can be opened and read. This is history; being able to touch it gives a sense of value. KMUTT should have roots, which is the preservation of documents, and it is believed that the library should be the best place….
Seeing one’s own roots must have an academic dimension; it is not merely a museum that stores objects. It must be done across the entire university, conducting research continuously to create new outputs and build knowledge. There must be new knowledge arising from research. History is not limited to 50 years; it does not stand still. It must be recorded, and the best records are documents, notebooks, books, and individuals. All of this is the big picture of the dream… a learning park.”

Associate Professor Dr. Suvit Saetea
The 6th President (22 December 2018 – Present)

Steadfastly Following the Plan:
“… Looking back 20 years ago, KMUTT was among the first higher education institutions to become autonomous, amid questions of whether it would survive during the economic bubble burst. However, with a 20-year development plan and firm commitment to following that plan, KMUTT has been able to stand as a higher education institution focused on producing science and technology graduates for industry, the economy, and society in large numbers. In 2020, we have a new 20-year development plan, continuing with three missions:
1. Personnel development, especially in science and technology, moving forward to develop and produce high-quality graduates for the country
2. Discovering new knowledge by developing innovations and research to be applied for the benefit of the nation
3. Academic services. All three missions will succeed not only through the use of digital technology but also require effective management.”
